![]() The running speed didn’t actually bother me too much since most rooms are pretty small, but it looked very silly in combat and when being chased by Sakuya. The flashlight jerks around strangely which makes finding some items a bit of a pain. Honestly I think the only thing I would change is the running speed and the janky flashlight/third person camera controls. It absolutely deserves it and I think reviews were overly harsh, though I suppose I understand the expectation that the remaster should’ve done a bit more to polish it up. Sitting through the banger credits right now. Visually looks pretty good for what it is and there are a few frame stutters on occasion but honestly almost hard to tell because the whole game uses weird camera cuts and a jerky aesthetic. I think it’s fine both handheld and docked. I’m only on the first chapter with the dude so maybe it changes later, but one of the few things I liked about maiden was it felt bigger and took you to more open areas and different locations than mostly just keeping me in this one bleak building. One thing I miss is kinda larger and different environments. ![]() Also a small quibble is with the girl characters at least, every time you grab an item it puts the flash light away then does a kinda slow janky animation of you taking it back out after getting the item. Though it does take you out of it a bit when you have no health at all and are about to die yet the character can only summon a slow shuffle walk to run for their lives. Would love a patch to speed up running because it is hilariously slow, but it bothers me a little less here than it would in another game as it’s more of a slow meditative experience than more action oriented horror. FF is just such a unique series with a vibe and game feel you get almost no where else. ![]()
